Social enterprise is increasingly driving commerce, corporate norms, and investment goals around the globe. This course begins with an introduction of the concept of social enterprise, including underlying principles and legal framework, followed by in-depth analysis and discussion of governance, operational and investment considerations in the social enterprise market, both in the U.S. and internationally. The course will include various guest speakers, reading assignments from articles, case studies, white papers, and books, and one significant student project.
