Law B585 Natural Resources Damages Seminar

Superfund Remembered. This course will explore Superfund sites in and around the Puget Sound region, including the famous Asarco site at Commencement Bay. Each student will investigate a site and become familiar with its legal history. We will meet with the lawyers and engineers who worked on these cases. The 2005 version of this seminar produced an article on the Exxon Valdez Reopener: Natural Resource Damage Settlements and Roads Not Taken, 22 Alask. L. Rev. 135 (Dec. 2005). The 2006 seminar focused on the Northwest Forest Plan. A publication is expected.
