Law A576 International Criminal Law

This course examines responses by states and international organizations to international and transnational crimes. Coverage includes substantive and procedural international criminal law, the fundamentals of international criminal responsibility (mens rea, principals and accomplices), defenses and immunities, and the prosecution and punishment of international criminals in both national course and in international tribunals, including the International Criminal Court. The course includes selected coverage of transnational criminal law issues, including mutual legal assistance agreements, extradition and rendition. Prerequisite: Law A505 Criminal Law. Recommended: Law A574 International Law. (Not offered 2009-2010 academic year.)
