Job announcements for students and alumni are available online on Symplicity. Students and Alumni may request passwords from the Career Services Center by visiting the office or sending a request to . See the Symplicity Student Guide (pdf) for a review of the CSM interface and functions.

If you are NOT a UW Law student or graduate, to purchase a subscription to our on-line job listings posted on Symplicity, you will need to mail a check for $80.00 for a one year subscription or $40 for a six month subscription, made out to UW School of Law, to the following address: William H. Gates Hall, UW School of Law, Box 353020, Seattle, WA 98195-3020. Along with your check, please include:

  1. your name
  2. your law school
  3. your year of graduation
  4. your home phone number and
  5. the e-mail address where you would like to receive the monthly passwords.

Payments must be received by the Career Services before accounts are activated.

BYU Intercollegiate Job Bank

Jobs from other law schools are available through the Intercollegiate Job Bank maintained by BYU Law School. Go to BYU Career Services and click on the Intercollegiate Job Bank link. Contact for the username and password.

Government Employment

Looking just at the numbers, the federal government is the largest single employer of lawyers in the country. Most entry level hires are done through agency Honors Programs.

At the state level the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, other state agencies, and many local and county jurisdictions routinely hire recent law graduates. Indeed, state and local jobs can often be the fastest track to hands-on litigation experience—with high volume caseloads and frequent court appearances.
