1L Diversity Fellowship Programs 2012 - 2013

What is a diversity fellowship?

Several Seattle and Portland law firms offer diversity fellowships to first-year students. The fellowships are open to 1L students nationwide, and offer paid summer associate positions following the 1L year. Most firms also award a scholarship that will apply toward law school tuition during their 2L year.

Who should apply?

Review diversity fellowship/scholarship information on each firm's website to determine hiring criteria, application materials and process, and timelines for each opportunity. When and how do I apply?

A reception is held each year during the first week of December at the UW Tower, Mezzanine Café, from 4:00 - 5:30pm. Students who are interested in applying should plan to attend.

Yes. For the Puget Sound Area Minority Fellowship Program, you will submit one application through Symplicity. If selected as a fellow, you will be matched with a participating firm. With the 1L Diversity Fellowships, you will apply directly to the firms participating.
