The Center for Professional and Leadership Development(CPLD) offers many opportunities for employers to connect with UW School of Law students. Whether recruiting for a summer position, externship during the academic year, or a permanent position after graduation, we hope you will consider participating in one or more of the programs below.

On-Campus Interviews (OCI) will be held at the law school on the following dates:

  • August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27 & 28, 2012
  • September 27 & 28, 2012

Resume Collection Registration Instructions

Employers who are interested in recruiting students from the University of Washington School of Law but are unable to interview on campus, are invited to participate in Resume Collection. To be competitive with our on-campus employer’s interview timeline, we suggest selecting a student application deadline no later than August 1, 2012.

Job Announcements

Job announcements for student and attorney positions are accepted any time during the year.  Submit your available position online at Symplicity or by e-mail attachment to .

Video Conference Interviews

The Center for Professional and Leadership Development will arrange video conference interviews for employers who cannot meet with students on campus. We have the capability of connecting with both IP and ISDN systems. To schedule a video interview, please send your request to .

Off-Campus Career Fairs

Northwest Minority Job Fair

A consortium of private and public sector employers committed to promoting diversity in the Seattle legal community participates in this event each year. The 26th annual job fair will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the offices of Lane Powell PC , 1420 5th Avenue, Suite 2100, Seattle, WA 98101.

National Law School Consortium

Registration Deadlines are June 29 and July 13, 2012  – See website for details.
The UW is one of 10 top public law schools participating in this program. Interviews are held in New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and Miami during August & September.

Fall Recruiting Program 2012 (OCI) Important Dates to Remember

Monday, February 13, 2012 – Fall Recruiting Registration for Employers is open on Symplicity.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 – Registration deadline for employers who want to participate in the Fall Recruiting Program (OCI). Registration materials and fees must be received in the Center for Professional and Leadership Development by this date.

Friday, July 20, 2012 – Student materials are available in Symplicity for employer review and pre-selection. Application materials are viewable in Symplicity and may be downloaded into a PDF file. (Employers pre-select 80% of the candidates to be interviewed-- Symplicity adds the remaining 20% by lottery.)

Monday, August 6, 2012NOON Deadline for Employers to Submit Pre-Selections On-Line in Symplicity. [Please note early deadline.]

Thursday, August 9, 2012 – On-Campus Interview Schedules Published in Symplicity to employers and students.

August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27 & 28 – Interviews held on campus.

September 27 & 28 – Interviews held on campus.

Callback Dates – the University of Washington School of Law does not set formal "callback" or "flyback" weeks. However, employers who conduct interviews in September are encouraged to schedule callback interviews prior to September 24, the first day of fall quarter classes at the law school.
