Holly Bennet
Assistant Director
Holly Morris Bennet, JD, ACC, is an Assistant Director of the Center for Professional & Leadership Development. As an Assistant Director, Ms. Bennet provides professional development coaching for students, and assists the CLPD in presenting workshops and events to assist students in preparing for professional life. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, Ms. Bennet practiced environmental law with McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen (now Bingham McCutchen). From there, Ms. Bennet went to the United States Attorney's Office in Seattle where she prosecuted federal crimes from filing of charges through Ninth Circuit appeal.

Michelle Gonzalez
Assistant Dean
Dean Gonzalez earned a joint degree, J.D./M.P.A., from U.C. Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law and Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government in 1994. She worked in the private and public sectors, practicing in the following areas: employment civil rights law, general tort law, complex litigation and disability law. She served as a trial attorney for the EEOC's Seattle office and as a staff attorney for U.S. Magistrate Judge Monica J. Benton in the Western District of Washington. Dean Gonzalez has also taught civil rights courses as a part-time lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law and Seattle University School of Law.

Josie Mitchell
Assistant Director of Recruiting
As Assistant Director in the Center for Career and Leadership Development, Josie works closely with students and alumni on job search and interview strategies, and is the primary contact for legal employers who seek to recruit students. She manages several programs throughout the year, including the Fall Recruiting/ On-Campus Interview Program, Mock Interview Programs, and Diversity Fellowship Programs. She provides Symplicity technical support to students and employers, and directs content updates for the Fall Recruiting and student job search webpages. She has been a member of NALP (The Association for Legal Career Professionals) since 1999, and has been elected to several positions, including: Chair of the Law Student Professional Development Section; Vice Chair of the Professionalism Standards and Curricula Work Group; West Rocky Mountain Nominating Committee Member; and West Rocky Mountain Regional Coordinator. She is also a member of the Seattle City Group, SALRA (Seattle Area Legal Recruiting Administrators).

Anna Van Pelt
Assistant Director
Anna Van Pelt is an Assistant Director of the Center for Professional & Leadership Development. As Assistant Director, Ms. Van Pelt provides professional development coaching for students, and manages CPLD events and programs. After graduating from UW Law in 2005, Ms. Van Pelt clerked for the Honorable Judge Thomas J. Wynne of the Snohomish County Superior Court before joining the Snohomish County Public Defender Association. As a public defender, Ms. Van Pelt represented over 1,500 clients. One of her favorite aspects of being a public defender was the opportunity to use her Spanish language skills to help others through the criminal justice system. Ms. Van Pelt is also trained in alternative dispute resolution and large group facilitation, and expects to become a certified mediator by August 2011.
