Application Deadlines (for Fall Quarter admission)
Ph.D. students should first contact the Graduate Program Administrator at gradlaw@u.washington.edu at least 6 months before the admission deadline for that year to discuss the feasibility of their project and set up an interview with the Asian Law Center Director.
Ph.D. and LL.M. applicants (International Applicants)
- November 1st:
Recommended submission date for materials required by UW Office of Graduate Admissions for international applicants. Materials will be processed if submitted after this date, but delays may occur. - February 1st:
Final departmental deadline for international applicants (for submission to the ALC).
Ph.D. and LL.M. applicants (U.S. Citizens/Permanent Residents)
- July 1st (final departmental and UW Office of Graduate Admissions deadline)
Visiting Scholars
- Visiting Scholar applications are accepted year round. Decisions on applications are made monthly. Due to delays in visa processing time, however, Visiting Scholar applicants are advised to apply at least six months before they intend to arrive in the United States. Assessment of applications takes approximately four weeks from date of receipt, and may take longer if the application is incomplete.
