Asian Law Center
LL.M. Admissions
Tuition and Financial Aid
Graduate tuition is set separately from J.D. tuition at the University of Washington.
For the current tuition rate for the LL.M. in Asian & Comparative Law, please
see the University of Washington website for
Graduate Tuition Fees Tier 3.
Most international students will be non-residents for the duration of their study
at UW.
As a State-supported institution, the University of Washington’s tuition rates offer
exceptional value. Accident and health insurance; books and supplies; room and board;
personal expenses and transportation are estimated at an additional USD $18,000
– $20,000.
Scholarship assistance for the LL.M. program is limited. Accordingly, applicants
should budget sufficient funds to cover at least nine months of study in the program.
International applicants for the Asian and Comparative Law LL.M. program are automatically considered
for tuition waivers and paid research positions. A small number of these
financial assistance awards are made each year. Students in exceptional financial need may submit a statement indicating this with
their application. Applicants seeking financial assistance should also investigate other funding sources such as employers, government
agencies and foundations, as well as organizations listed on the
Finanacial Aid Offices' International Student web page.
For U.S. students, educational loans are available through the of
Financial Aid Office.
