Joe Diamond '31, First Law Grad to Give to Students First
Just weeks prior to his passing on March 3, 2007, three days shy of his 100th birthday, Joe Diamond along with his wife Muriel made a $100,000 gift to the School of Law to create the Josef and Muriel Diamond Law Student Scholarship. This is the first gift to the law school as part of the UW Students First
campaign.
Campaign Chairman Bill Gates Sr. ('50) made the official announcement that the UW
surpassed its $2 billion goal January 26, 2007 after contributions totaling about
$5 million came in.
Our 2006-07 annual fund drive is underway. Your gift to the annual fund will support
scholarships for our students. This year, resident tuition is $16,255; only five
years ago, it was $6,911. Due to the generosity of many, we have been able to increase
the total amount awarded for student scholarships this fall. Your gift this year
will enable us to provide even more assistance next year. Please join us in our
journey to ensure that our students have every opportunity for academic and personal
achievement by
making a gift to the UW School of Law's Annual Fund.
