University of Washington Financial Aid

The University of Washington offers a comprehensive financial aid program, which includes institutional grants, federal and state work-study, and federal loan programs to help eligible students pay for law school. These funds are awarded and administered by the University of Washington Office of Student Financial Aid.

FAFSA

All applicants for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The University of Washington does not accept paper copies of Student Aid Reports (SARs). For priority consideration of funds, your FAFSA application must be dated as received by the processor by February 28 for the upcoming academic year, and you must list the University of Washington-Seattle Code #003798 on the FAFSA. If you do not meet the priority deadline, you will be considered for limited types of financial aid.

You may request a FAFSA and University of Washington application instructions by emailing osfa@u.washington.edu, visiting www.washington.edu/students/osfa or calling 206-543-6101. Please specify the academic year for which you want the FAFSA. You should review the complete application instructions available from the Office of Student Financial Aid.

School of Law Financial Aid Program

The University of Washington School of Law also has a Financial Aid office to assist law students with financial matters. School of Law grants are awarded primarily on the basis of financial need, although scholarship or other factors may be considered with respect to certain awards. To be eligible, students must meet the financial aid priority deadline as described above.

Questions about School of Law scholarships and financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid Coordinator at 206-543-4552 or uwlawaid@u.washington.edu.
