What to Do Before Orientation
Here is a checklist of actions to complete before orientation. Please review these items and deadlines carefully..
- February 28, 2012: Apply for Financial Aid
Submit your FAFSA application.
- March 30 & 31, 2012: Admitted Students’ Day
Join us for a preview of “life at law school,” where you will meet fellow 1L
classmates, current students, alumni, faculty, staff & administrators. Events
include campus tours, class observations & overviews of student organizations,
activities & clinical programs.
- April 15, 2012: Apply for Scholarships
Submit the application online. The application will be available January 1,
2012.

May 1, 2012: Submit Enrollment Confirmation Deposit
Send your $500 deposit to secure your spot. Make checks payable to
“University of Washington” and mail to

- July 31, 2012: Submit an Official Undergraduate Transcript
Your offer of admission is contingent upon receipt of an official
transcript showing record of your Bachelor’s degree. The transcript received
with your CAS report is unofficial & does not meet this requirement. Have your
undergraduate institution send your transcript directly to our office.
- Before Registration: Set up your
UW NetID & Email
Your UW NetID allows you to access the University-only web information,
including MyUW, your personal student portal to register for classes, view & pay
your tuition and create your email account.
- Before Registration: Submit your
Immunization Form
All students at the UW are required to complete this form before they can register.

- Before Orientation: Register for Classes
Detailed information & directions will be sent mid-August. Don’t forget
to register before orientation!
- Before Orientation: Submit the
Washington Institutions of Higher Education Residence Questionnaire
This form is required only of those students who are Washington Residents
currently living out-of-state. Contact the Residency Office at 206-543-5932 if
you have questions.
- Before Orientation:
Statement
of Financial Responsibility (International Students Only)
Complete the Statement of Financial Responsibility & I-20
forms. Also consider attending the
Summer Institute in Transnational Law and Practice in early September.
- Notify us of any address, phone number or e-mail address changes
